From October 28 to 31, 2019, Engage! hosted their annual luxury wedding business summit in beautiful London, England. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to take part in the event, which focused on networking, education, and inspiration between luxury wedding and event planners.
The Engage!19 London Experience
This year’s event was presented by Historic Royal Palaces and Rosewood London, a gorgeous, centrally located hotel in which we stayed during our visit. Sarah Haywood, one of the world’s most prestigious and talented wedding coordinators, also contributed to the event with her beautiful design artistry. Engage! is limited to 250 event-planning professionals, so the opportunity to take part was an honor. The entire event was meticulously organized and perfectly planned, with adequate time for both professional development and socializing.
The Summit’s Events
Engage!19 was produced by consultants Rebecca Grynnals and Kathryn Arce of Engaging Concepts, whose inspiring teamwork manifested as a truly exciting and successful experience. While we enjoyed sumptuous meals, many industry leaders also took to the stage to share their business strategies, professional experience, and creative concepts, sparking our imaginations and encouraging the further development of our own business approaches. There were plenty of opportunities to engage and interact personally, as well, with abundant music, dancing, and sightseeing.
Exploring London
Historic Royal Palaces provided us with once-in-a-lifetime tours of storied locales. One evening, we boarded double-decker buses like true Londoners and headed to the Tower of London, where we not only watched the gates open and took in a private viewing of the Crown Jewels, but also witnessed the opening of the Tower Bridge twice in a single night! It was a rare and momentous experience, to say the least. During the final night of Engage!, we celebrated the event with dinner at the one and only Kensington Palace, the birthplace of Queen Victoria and home to many British royals over the past 300 years.
