Palm Beach Fundraiser for HAS: Hôpital Albert Schweitzer | a Z Event Company production

Even before entering the courtyard of The Breakers for cocktail hour, guests were being drawn outside by the hypnotic sounds of Caribbean music lofting through the air. Greeting the guests at the bottom of the stairs were refreshing signature drinks, enticing, mouthwatering hors d’oeuvres, and white orchid leis for our VIP ticket holders. As our guests mingled on last Thursday’s perfect Palm Beach evening, we found our biggest challenge to be how to lure our guests into the Venetian Ballroom to start the seated dinner and live auction. Light bulb! We had our Haitian Kompa dancers lead our guests in a “rah rah parade” around the courtyard and into the ballroom where they performed a dance number to the music of La Vida as the last of the guests settled in at their tables. The music was so captivating that many of our bewitched guests hopped up from their tables and joined our Latin dancers during their performance. It was a sight to see! Dinner commenced, beautiful and heartfelt speeches were made, and the live auction and “cash call” began. We had some incredible auction items up for bid this year: several original paintings, an incredible Clos du Val winery estate package, and an unique offering to spend an evening with the executive producers of “Homeland” and “Mad Men” at their home in Santa Monica, California. A few of our guests even got into bidding wars, which are always fun to watch, especially when the money being raised is for a great charity. The evening ended to the music of the variety dance band “The Social,” which caused everyone to get out on the dance floor and show off their best moves! All in all, it was an immensely successful evening where we raised over $750,000 for a most worthy cause, and everyone left saying they can’t wait for next year’s event! “Rah rah!”
